MCD Innovations, an Airxcel Brand

Since 2003, MCD Innovations, a Division of Airxcel, Inc., has focused on advancing window shade solutions for the RV industry. Founded by full-time RVers Dave and Carla Townsley, MCD began by manufacturing upscale windshield shades for RV OEMs and the aftermarket and has built a reputation around customer service, quality, innovative technology, and product development.

MCD’s growth has followed the evolution of its products and the RV industry. The company began in a 7,500-square-foot facility before moving to a 25,000-square-foot location in 2005, where it launched its flagship American Duo® Roller Shades. In 2010, growing product demand led MCD to expand to a 9.6-acre campus in McKinney, Texas.

In 2016, MCD Innovations became part of the Airxcel family of brands. Today, MCD operates from Elkhart, Indiana, bringing its shade expertise and history of product innovation to the center of the RV manufacturing industry.

MCD shades can be found across Class A, B and C motorhomes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers, with models suited for most RV windows and doors. MCD shades are also used in thousands of commercial and residential spaces, including more than 8,000 Dunkin’ Donuts locations, STIHL, and others.
