On The Lot with Gary and Janice Johnstone

(Date: 11/14/12) The Johnstones, who have been avid RVer’s for over 20 years, came to MCD to have their 2008 Newmar Dutch Star living area fitted with new MCD American Duo™ Day/Night Shades. We asked why they traveled to MCD all the way from North Vancouver, British Columbia? “MCD has a quality product made in North America. We know the shades are easy to use since we have seen them installed in other RV’s. We have dealt with MCD in previous years ordering wheel covers and windshield wiper covers online.”

We asked Gary and Janice to tell us a little about their travels. “We have been RVing for 20 years, starting with a 24 foot Class C that could sleep six people comfortably. We enjoyed many weekends with our two sons and their friends. In the past eight years, we have gone from an RV that was 38 feet to 40 feet and now to 43 feet which sleeps two comfortably! We are semi-retired and love to travel. We have seen so much. Every state has something wonderful to experience. We are striving to visit all the National Parks. In fact, one year we visited Haleakala, Maui – the highest, and Death Valley – the lowest. We look forward to many more journeys.”

The Johnstone’s were very happy with their MCD shade purchase. “We enjoyed our stay. Everyone has been so friendly and your installation crew was top notch!”

Note: Gary and Janice Johnstone returned to McKinney and MCD just after New Year 2013 and had their cockpit shades, including the windshield, installed. Guess you can’t get too much of a good thing!

On The Lot with Jerry and Sally McCoy

(Date: 11/8/12) When the 2008 Fleetwood Bounder came rolling into the MCD lot, we knew it was Jerry and Sally McCoy from Fresno, California. They, and their dog Pixie, came to MCD to get their entire coach retrofitted with MCD day/night shades. We asked how they arrived at the decision to come to the factory and purchase MCD shades?

“After seeing and comparing products for the last four years at various shows, we picked MCD because of the quality and workmanship. After installation, we knew we made the right decision.”

Jerry and Sally told us, “We started looking at 5^th wheels six years ago and purchased two before Jerry came down with cancer. We switched to a Class A motorhome because of the ease of set-up and use. We both love to travel and Pixie, our 2.5 lb. teacup toy poodle has adjusted very well. When Jerry is having chemo treatments, we take short weekend trips. The trip here to MCD was our first month and a half on the road.”

“What wonders our great nation has to show us and we have met the most wonderful travelers on the way!”

So Jerry and Sally, how was your experience here at MCD? “The staff at MCD has gone above and beyond the call of duty and delivered more than promised in all areas. We thank you for making our stay and experience exceptional!”

On The Lot with Darrell and Connie Carver

(Date: 10/19/12) The Carvers are from Bartlesville, Oklahoma and travel in a 2011 Class A Winnebago Vista. They have been RVing, on and off, for about 30 years. They set up an appointment at MCD to have cockpit shades installed. The power windshield shades were complimented by manual day/night American Duo™ driver and passenger shades. They told us that their Winnebago came with American Duo™ house shades and they were very satisfied with the operation and performance of the MCD shades.

When asked about their travels, Darrell and Connie told us, “We enjoy traveling and visiting historical sites. Our travels to New England were very enjoyable as was the balloon festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We also enjoy local sights and sampling of the local cuisine. We attend local campout trips with the WIT club and attend state and national rallies.” 

How did their shade installation turn out? “We are very happy! The installers did a great job. Winnebago did not offer us the windshield shade system as an option on this coach but, having looked at the coaches that did have the option, we think MCD’s installation looks even better.”

Thank you for the kind words Darrell and Connie. We are sure you will enjoy your new cockpit shades, especially when driving into the sun. And when you get to your destination, you can have your privacy at the press of a button with the same powered windshield shades.

On The Lot with Marty and Edwina Ramseyer

(Date: 10/19/12) Navigating their 2006 Monaco Camelot motorhome to the MCD factory, Marty and Edwina Ramseyer wanted to get MCD Day/Night shades installed in their entire coach. The installation consisted of the windshield/cockpit area and all the house shades. MCD roller shades were selected to update the interior look of their Monaco and to remove the frustration of broken pleated shade spools and the pleated night shades that would not stay up.

The Ramseyer’s travel to Michigan each year, “. . .to see grandkids and great grandkids. We will go about anywhere to have a good time. We had a fifth wheel but discovered a Class A is much easier and more convenient to use.” Marty and Edwina have been RVing for the last 18 years.

When asked about their MCD Installation, they said, “Tremaine and Justin are top notch installers and work well as a team. They are very patient and meticulous in their work. There was good camaraderie with other customers waiting in the lot which made the week go by quickly.”
